Mathematics Excellent Lesson Competition
The three-meter-long podium showcases teachers' styles, and through competitions, teaching skills are enhanced together. On May 21st and 22nd, the 2026 Anqing City Middle School Mathematics High-Quality Lesson Competition and the Selection Competition for Excellent Middle School Mathematics Lessons in Anhui Province were held at our school's east campus as scheduled, which was hosted by the Municipal Education Research Institute and organized by our school. This competition brought together outstanding middle school mathematics teachers from Anqing city and its counties (cities) to participate, during which the contestants determined the teaching topics and competition order through drawing lots, competing on the same stage and being empowered through the competition, fully demonstrating the professional qualities and teaching styles of Anqing's middle school mathematics teachers.
Specifically, the 'Classroom' competition focused on real classroom teaching. The participating teachers, guided by the new curriculum standards, based on the cultivation of core mathematical literacy for junior high school students, ingeniously created classroom scenarios, innovated teaching methods, and meticulously explored strategies for tackling key and difficult points. With a full teaching state, solid teaching foundation, and flexible classroom design, they presented a series of logically clear and distinctive high-quality mathematics lessons. In the classroom, there was a lively interaction between teachers and students, with continuous thinking collisions, fully demonstrating the solid teaching basic skills of the participating teachers and the excellent mathematical literacy of our school's students. Moreover, the 'lesson presentation' session focused on the elaboration of teaching design and teaching concepts. The participating teachers elaborated layer by layer on aspects such as analyzing the textbooks, assessing the learning situation, setting teaching goals, and the teaching process, who gradually expounded their unique understanding and deep thinking of mathematics teaching, vividly interpreting the unique charm of the current mathematics classroom, which combined connotation, warmth, and vitality.
In a nutshell, 'Water, though colorless, becomes ripples when it collides; a stone, without fire itself, emits brilliant light when struck.' Thus, not only is this high-quality teaching competition a concentrated display of teaching achievements, but also a deep collision of teaching research thinking. As the organizer of this event, our school will take this competition as an opportunity to continuously deepen the reform of classroom teaching, regularly carry out teaching research exchanges, hone teachers' teaching skills, empower their professional growth, and continuously promote the steady improvement of the teaching quality of the mathematics subject in our school.
